Acceptable Use Policy

The rules for using the Gnok data platform, so it stays safe and fair for everyone on it.

Version 2026-10-03 · Effective October 3, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy is part of the Terms of Service and applies to everyone who uses the Gnok data platform (the "Service"). Capitalized words have the meaning given in the Terms. You must not use the Service, or help or allow anyone else to use it, to do any of the following.

Illegal or harmful content and activity

  • Break the law, or store, process or share content that is illegal or that you have no right to use.
  • Store, process or share child sexual abuse material. We report it to the authorities.
  • Infringe or misappropriate anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights.
  • Harass, threaten, defraud or harm others, or impersonate anyone.
  • Send spam or unsolicited messages, or run phishing.
  • Distribute malware, or use the Service to attack, scan or disrupt other systems.

Data the Service isn't built for

  • During Limited Availability, upload personal information about others, confidential business information, or regulated data. See Limited Availability.
  • At any time, store data that the law requires special safeguards or certifications for, unless Gnok has agreed to it in writing. That includes protected health information under HIPAA (Gnok doesn't sign business associate agreements), payment-card data covered by PCI DSS, and data controlled under export laws such as ITAR.
  • Collect personal information from children under 18 through the Service.

Security and access

  • Test, scan or probe the Service's security, except as our vulnerability disclosure policy allows.
  • Try to access another organization's data, accounts or systems, or use credentials that aren't yours. Share your own credentials with anyone else.
  • Get around the Service's limits, quotas, plan restrictions, access controls or AI Governance.

Fair use of shared resources

  • Overload or disrupt the Service or its shared resources, including with automated sign-ups or with queries designed to exhaust capacity.
  • Create organizations or accounts to get around a free-plan limit, a suspension or a removal.
  • Mine cryptocurrency, or use the Service's compute, notebooks or network as a general-purpose computing or proxy service unrelated to working with your data.

The Service itself

  • Resell or sublicense the Service, or offer it to others as your own service, without our written agreement.
  • Copy, reverse engineer or decompile the Service, or use it to build a competing product, except as the law allows.

AI features

  • Use AI features in a way that breaks the usage policies of our AI providers: Anthropic's Usage Policy and OpenAI's usage policies.
  • Use AI output to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on people (for example about credit, employment, housing or insurance) without meaningful human review.
  • Use remote models or other outbound connections to send data to endpoints you aren't allowed to use.

What we do about it

If we reasonably believe you have broken this policy, we may remove or disable content, limit or suspend the Service, or end your access, as described in the Terms of Service. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. We may report illegal activity to the authorities.

Reporting abuse

Report abuse of the Service to abuse@gnok.com, and security vulnerabilities to security@gnok.com.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new version number, as described in the Terms of Service.
